5 Easy Steps to Find the Perfect Bike

Step #1: What riding style is right for you?

The first step in finding the perfect bike: identify what kind of riding you enjoy. do you like riding for miles on the road? taking leisurely rides on the weekend? Barreling down a mountain? For each type of riding there is a uniquely designed bike: Road, Mountain, or City & Bike Path. When looking for the right bike, also consider what riding position you like best - down low for speed, or upright for casual riding.

Where ever there's pavement, there you are. Recreational riders all the way to pro racers have proven Trek bikes on roads the world over. Even the Tour de France.
Whatever terrain you're on, Trek mountain bikes can tackle it. From rocks on the single track to potholes in the city, these aggressive bikes have off-road muscle.

Doing tricks or racing on dirt or streets. Trek BMX bikes provide full-on traction and durability.

Step #2: Choose the frame that's right for you.

70% of a bike's ride performance comes from the frame. It's the foundation that everything else is built on. Frame material, construction, geometry, weight, and durability all contribute to a bike's handling, comfort, and efficiency. That's why there are several frame material choices to match your preferences.

Step #3: Compare components.

After the frame, the wheels have the most effect on how your bike preforms. Lighter wheels are faster and climb hills beter. Some seat posts and handlebar stems include active shock absorption for added comfort. Also look for premium seats that fit your anatomy. Higher performance drivetrain components have better sealing mechanisms to keep out crud so they work better, longer. Shimano components are the best in the bike industry.
