Joining is free. Tailwind Cyclists offers a 10% discount to PSU Club members for parts and accessories, as well as assisting with training strategy and club rides. Currently PSU isn't subsidizing our operating expenses. We plan to secure an activities stipend for the 2003-2004 year which will provide funds for jerseys and race fees. |
We think it's okay to ride anything, just as long as you can stay upright and wear a helmet. PSU Bike Club's mission encompasses all riders, of all levels and abilities. That being said, as you become more involved and participate in longer rides or racing, bike selection becomes more critical. Don't worry, you have plenty of nutty bike friends who will help you. On the other hand, if you wish to keep your beloved gradeschool 10-speed, we'll love you too. Our only real goal is to have fun and ride safely. |

Well, yes. Why? You can figure that one out. And if you haven't yet, we have a few people who can attest to the lifesaving properties of styrofoam. Think of the tomatoes you find in the bottom of your refrigerator, and what happens when you throw them at your neighbor's car. Need we go on? Plus, there's the whole pesky insurance thing. |
Mountain bike and road rides fluctuate with the seasons. Rides are held at least twice a week, usually more. Early fall and late spring rides are outdoors, winter rides are indoors (on stationary trainers) at Tailwind Cyclists. Road rides meander around the countryside of Pitt, while mountain bike rides go to 23rd St or Wilderness Park. For up-to -date ride schedules check the calendar. |
